During the annual meeting 2013 of the Faculty of Basic Sciences (FSB) at the EPFL our laboratory has been awarded the Bronze prize of safety 2013. The prize was given by the FSB and the Occupational Safety and Health Service (SB-SST) and received by the official safety delegate (COSEC) of our laboratory, Dr. Fernando Cortés Salazar. Thank you Fernando and thanks to all group members for ensuring that everyone follows the rules of safety and good lab practice!
With Prof. Hubert H. Girault as one of the referees, Encarni Torralba, former guest PhD student at LEPA, passed successfully her PhD defense. The thesis is entitled “Study of Ion Transfer Processes Through Liquid Membranes by Means of Voltammetrical and Chronopotentiometrical Techniques” and was submitted to the Departamento de Química Física, Facultad de Química, Universidad de Murcia, Spain. Congratulations!
Today, Prof. Hubert H. Girault has been one of the examiners of the habilitation examination of our collaborator Carlos M. Pereira from the University of Porto.
